What is the TMJ?

The TMJ (Temporo-mandibular joint) is the joint between the lower jaw and skull. Like many joints in the body, it has a cartilage disc separating the jaw and the skull. There are also some powerful chewing muscles which move the jaw into different positions to allow us to speak and chew.

What are the common symptons?

  • Pain
  • Clicking
  • Inability to open the mouth wide

Mr Aakshay Gulati will discuss with you in detail the nature of the problem and discuss the different treatment options that may be relevant for your case.
